Van Morrison - Bristol, CT - 1990-08-31

Van Morrison, Lake Compounce Park, Bristol CT, August 31, 1990.

Lake Compounce is an amusement park in Connecticut which, for several seasons in the late 80s/early 90s, put on rock shows. Wikipedia says Lake Compounce " the oldest continuously operating (though the park was barely opened a few days each year in the early 1990s) amusement park in North America, having operated every year since 1846." It was actually an interesting place to see a show because admission to the concert also got you into the park. On a sunny day it was a blast, on a rainy day, well...I talk about that in one of my posts about the Dylan show I saw there...

Anyway, I remember being very disappointed by this show...Van's band played more than he was actually on stage...he can be very indifferent to his audience when he performs. I have spoken to people who have seen him on nights when he is surly and perfunctory and others who have seen him deliver the goods.

Several fan sites say recordings exist but I do not have one. If you do please let me know. Thanks.
